My grandmother passed away earlier today. She was 84 years old. She was a fighter through and through. Tough as nails. Stubborn too. She battled 2 rounds of cancer and Alzheimers. Had a total of 10 kids and an unbelievable amount of grandkids. She wouldnt give up even when she had her familys support to do so. She was a very loving woman. A great grandma. Everyone called her grandma including the staff at Headley Insurance where she was the secretary for years. I am overwhelmed with the condolences from everyone. I am sad shes gone but happy she is no longer in pain. She is one great woman. One I am proud to call my grandma. I wouldnt trade her for the world. The collage of pictures in the first photo is the photo box I made her last christmas. She was overwhelmed. When I gave her the box she broke down in tears. It was a bunch of photos of when she was a young mom with all the kids and my her husband. It was to remind her of her happiest memories. I gave it to her when she was getting lost in the Alzeimers. The second photo is from the same day I gave her the box. She was so happy that day and its the way I want to remember her. She is my idol. I love her with all my heart. RIP Hazel Louise Pickens. 8/25/30 to 11/6/14.
