My grandparents came from a town in the Abruzzo region of Italy - TopicsExpress

My grandparents came from a town in the Abruzzo region of Italy known as Ateleta. Ateleta was derived from a Greek word which meant without taxes. The king of Naples in the 19th century gave the land to the Paese- think peasants- to farm and stave off starvation. Accordingly, I come from a long line of honest but humble poor people. That said, I have to say that the long running feud between the residents of Pittsburghs suburbs as to whether the North Hills or the South Hills suburbs are better is over. The South Hills wins. Game over. Why do I say that? I just came back from a trip to Millvale. Hoofah. This little hamlet is without peer. I saw 3 year olds smoking and playing dice. The streets are like Berlin after the war. The South Hills, while imperfect, is clearly superior.
