Michael Haynes WLBT: Big changes ahead!... Moisture quickly returning in advance of an approaching cold front; as of 6:30 this morning, the front and primary line of rain and storms is located in SE Oklahoma & NW Arkansas, but showers are increasing in coverage in East Arkansas and Louisiana just west of the Mississippi River due to an upper level disturbance. A series of weak disturbances swing through Mississippi today, kicking off periods of light rain this morning with a few embedded storms after lunch. Still looks like the heaviest rain arrives late this afternoon and tonight as the front edges in, with rain totals between 1 and 2 inches, on average by noon Saturday; up to 3 inches possible spots. For the high school footballs games tonight, expect off and on rain with the possibility for a few storms. The rain will increase in coverage and intensity throughout the game; certainly looks like a rain gear kind of night! Gradual clearing Saturday afternoon as much cooler, drier air blows in from the north. By Sunday, a good supply of sunshine, low humidity, and a refreshing north breeze!... What 95 degree days?? Have a great Friday, and enjoy the change to fall! Be sure to visit msnewsnow/weather for the latest webcast, radar, current conditions, and forecast graphics.
