Independent Local Radio in the UK is far removed from the original - TopicsExpress

Independent Local Radio in the UK is far removed from the original government proposals which underpinned the formation of a network of disparate locally owned and operated city-specific radio stations, each serving their local communities with a range of specialist music programmes and broad-based daytime pop programming designed to cater for all ages, It is our intention to explore the possibilities made available by internet broadcasting to re-create many of the stations which have effectively ceased trading, wherever possible we propose to legally use the abandoned names and bring back the spirit and sound of Independent Local Radio. There are many legal hurdles and obstacles which we will need to overcome, so we ask that you like this Facebook page and well keep you updated on our progress. We fully respect all intellectual property and IPO trademark registrations and propose to ensure that we fully comply with the legal constraints and requirements of any such registration, we do not claim any connection with any historic ILR station(s) but propose to launch wholly new stations evocative of the spirit, sound and feel of bygone radio stations, each will be offering independent non-networked programming unique to each station. It is envisaged that the first of these stations will begin broadcasting in July 2015 after all necessary consultation has been undertaken. To contact us, please email [email protected].
