My great great great grandfather (white) believed that all men - TopicsExpress

My great great great grandfather (white) believed that all men were created equal, that we were all made in the image of God and created with rights as outlined in the constitution. He didnt see race, he saw people that were held as slaves for life by the democrats in the south. He loved them because they were of the same race as him, the human race. They were men (not the modern meaning of male and female but of mankind). He and a wining majority of other humans picked up arms and killed people of similar color to themselves to free the slaves held in the United States. No other nation on earth has been willing to fight a war to end slavery. That war cost 25 times more lives than the War for Independence that created America. That was their legacy and our national heritage. If we as individuals today still believe that all men are created equal we should look at each and love each other because were humans created in the image of God without first determining the shade of each others epidermis. Love you man.
