My heart beats for thee, and I forsake myself; Yes-I know this to be madness, Yes-I know my midnights and middays will rain ballads of sadness; And YES-I know I said not so long ago that I could no longer linger, awaiting our Garden to blossom into its own Perfection... But I lied. Boldly. I fashioned a fragile defense against this writhing ache within my soul. Oh the days I wish to relinquish my commission- only to frolic in freedom with you... but I cannot. And for whatever reason-this is not our Season to BE. The Days I know carry your sweetness upon the afternoon breeze; and in bird-song do I hear the melody of your name; And when night veils the world, my spirit whispers sonnets in homage to You. Madness. Yes--madness I know it is! What else could it be?! This madness keeps me company, as I sit beneath the poplar tree, etching this testament-- My heart STILL beating for thee...
