My heart is exceedingly excited today.The begining of the victory in the battle for justice in Ghana football is here. So excited because the Ghana Football Association knows, at least for now that all national teams including the Black Stars belong to Ghanaians. Sports Minister, Hon. Mahama Ayariga gave meaning to this long awaited assertion when in accordance with the Brazil 2014 Presidential Commission of Inquiry ORDERED the GFA to return all the 8 million dollars FIFA money to government chest without touching a penny. Hon. Ayariga at a meeting with the GFA told them that the money belongs to government because the Black Stars is owned by the government of Ghana. We will put all the money in sports development. They should identify the priority projects for football not exceeding 2 million dollars and we will identify priority for all sports for the balance of the money and we will forward to the Presidency for authorization to invest the proceeds for sports development as a way of addressing the concerns about excessive investment in football. The GFA responded that, they were going to discuss with the Executive Committee and come back According to the Minister, But they are to refund the loan that was given because we want to make a point to everyone that when the funds were transferred to them in Brazil it was not a wasteful government expenditure on football alone but a loan and it has been recovered. This gladens my heart so dearly. I commend Hon. Ayariga for this bold and principled stance. Who says the Commission cant bite? I have maintained that no one ever again steals the tax-payers money in the name of football. GYEEDA, ISOFOTON, NSS, Woyome etc are all cases that need useful Commissions like Justice Dzamefes Commission and a thick skinned Minister like Hon. Ayariga to save Ghana from vampires who will stop at nothing from milking Ghana dead. Thinking Unconventionally. Folks, Sports is Huge!!
