My husband Randy wrote the following because it was heavy on his mind and I just had to share: I am saddened by the state we find our country in today. It is evident that the more our society pushes God out of their way, the more they are given to all sorts of vile activity. What used to be wrong is now embraced, or at least accepted as ok. But what is really plaguing me today is the people who profess to be redeemed by the blood of Christ, but are indulging in all kinds of sin. There are more and more everyday who are friends and family that say they have a relationship with God, but deny it with their life. Have they not read or heard; Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. For surely it is not God’s will for them to live in open unrepentant sin. 1 Jn 1:6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. I am afraid there has been so much preaching about Jesus our friend and God our daddy, that most don’t know the God who is the sovereign creator and sustainer of all things, who is Almighty God. They have brought him down and made him like us, who are willing to overlook sin that is running rampant in our society. They believe he will excuse their sin because they say they believe in Jesus. But James tells us that even the demons believe, and they shudder, and yet they are not saved. Who are we to think that the one who says he will judge the living and the dead will overlook our sins. He will be faithful in judgment. Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. Heb 10:24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, Heb 10:25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Heb 10:26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Heb 10:27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Heb 10:28 Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. Heb 10:29 How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? Heb 10:30 For we know him who said, Vengeance is mine; I will repay. And again, The Lord will judge his people. Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Therefore I plead with you, if you are living in deliberate open sin, REPENT!! While it is still today, don’t give the adversary a chance, for he will steel these words out of your mind and blind you all the more to your sin. Run to Jesus while there is still time.
