My ignition column came! Yay! The key broke off in the column - TopicsExpress

My ignition column came! Yay! The key broke off in the column before I bought the car. The half key still works and turns the car on, but its not easy or safe to have that going on. This weekend, when I get my work done and the rain stops, Ill (1) Disarm the airbags and (2) replace the ignition cylinder. As with learning, or self-teaching any new skill, I go to YouTube and to my new (used) Chilton Repair manual. You get step-by-step instructions, photos and its FREE! Heres the video: https://youtube/watch?v=Yt8wnj4qHoc I replaced the cylinder on the van the first year I had it simply because it died. It was a $5 part and a 15 minute job. Im hoping this one is as easy. I learn on every car I get. There are a lot of similarities, but a lot of quirks to learn with each new vehicle. For this, the only thing I have to get is the socket. Stay tuned for video this weekend!
