My juniors could be in their classrooms, learning extraordinary - TopicsExpress

My juniors could be in their classrooms, learning extraordinary things about the world and widening their horizons. They could be playing their guitars near Worldview, singing aloud. They could be basking in the winter sun, peeling oranges and unlearning love. They could be sitting near Jheelpaar, engrossed in 29. They could be dreaming about a perfect world and writing on the walls by the old Comp. Lit stairs. They could be playing TT in the Union Room or cricket in the car park. They could be blown high on the broken bridge. Or they could be reading Voltaire in the Reading Room on the third floor, in solitude. Instead, they have been hungry for more than 135 hours. They are cold. But they are not alone. I stand together with the students of JU. For a campus that is free from state terror. For a campus that respects and understands freedom. A campus of possibilities, of choice. Winters in JU have always been heartbreakingly beautiful. But this winter is different.
