My mastiff and weimaraner are inseperable. This day last year we had a horrible tragedy happen. Zoey, the mastiff, ran out to the highway barking at a truck pulling 2 anhydrous tanks and a car struck her. It at all happened so fast and will forever be scarred to my memory. We took her immediately to the vet where they didnt find anything wrong and sent us home yet she couldnt walk and had no kind of pain management. 2 days later we made the best decision and took her to ISU animal hospital where she got the care she needed. After xrays, ct scan, and MRI they discovered she had a spinal injury. It was a long 15 days without her! We were so pleased with the doctors and students who were caring for her. They devote so much of their time in caring for these precious animals. Zoey had a long road to recovery but as you can see in the top left picture, she is full of energy and back to her happy self. The best part is she fully recovered with no side effects from her injury.
