My mind has been reliving some past this morning. Guess its the depression medicine VA has put me on. One thing in particular thats racing thru it is in April 1991 my mother passed out at work and rushed to hospital. Later that day we found out she had a brain tumor. Doctors told us they couldnt say how long she had left but no more than 5 years. I had already signed up for the army and was waiting to graduate high school before I went off. Moms husband tried to talk me out of going , went as far as talking to my recruiter. When mom got better, had surgery,and came home she talked to me about it. Mom told me to not let what was wrong with her stop me from doing what I wanted to do because if I did , later in life I would regret it. My mom was able to come to my graduation and 4 days later her and my 2 sisters hugged me and said they loved me and off I went. I did my time in the army and even got a visit in Germany from my mother and grandmother. Im glad I listened to the one person that was always there for me. She always would listen to anything I had to say and was concerned if something was wrong. She was a true mom and a true parent. Mom lived just a month shy of 22 years with brain cancer. She went home last March. She was a fighter and most of all my mother and parent. Just some thoughts Im having today.
