My mom had a little flooding problem a couple of days ago at at her home. Seems that some shallow tree roots wrapped themselves around some PVC pipe under the ground and collapsed it causing fresh water to back up in her house. Thank goodness it wasnt sewer water. Anyway, she had to get someone out to fix that then the plumber called someone out to do the cleanup. It turns out that they had to rip carpet out in kitchen, both baths and hallway. Not only did they have to do that but they had to remove walls in the bathroom about 2 1/2 ft up from floor because it had wicked up the wall from the wet floor. So now she has big fans & dehumidifiers blowing throughout her house 24/7 to dry walls to avoid mold. She is unable to sleep there due to the noise of the fans at night. For an 85 yr. old women this is overwhelming. She seems to be handling it well but this restoration could take awhile so for now we have a house guest. Glad we were home to be here for her when this happened. Mom tends to fall apart when things like this happen to her. But on the flip side I think she really likes our company 24/7.
