My morning started with a bit of Feedly catching up and this post by Holly at decor8 caught my attention. For about two years Ive been dipping in and out my blog, but have never really pushed it hard because of the advertising dilemma (will people criticise me? How would clients (my brides & grooms) feel about this side of my business? Will I love the feel good feeling that you get when writing for pleasure fade away when you start feeling the pressure of delivering for the advertisers?) Thorstens words (Hollys husband) in reply to a readers comment criticising her for losing her touch because she appears to be selling too much nailed down the way people feel about bloggers: Somehow bloggers ... are expected to publish content for free. They are expected to do it out of the goodness of their hearts. They are expected to be magical creatures apparently living off of rainbows and hugs. And this is wrong. So much hard work goes into preparing each post, let alone 2 each and every day of the week as some bloggers do! Hugs are nice, but they wont pay gas and electricity unfortunately... Insightful post. Do read it if you get a chance. Thorstens words are poignant, but truly encouraging, if you are an established or new blogger. Have a fab Saturday. Xx feedproxy.google/~r/decor8blog/~3/MH1lpHUT2YQ/
