My name is Myles Buchanan. I want to be on student council because I am a leader and I feel like I can bring a lot to the Trailblazers. I am very friendly and easy to approach. I already have a lot of experience as a leader and I can bring things that the Trailblazers have never had before. That’s why my theme is Blazing New Trails. Here are some of the things I have done: I am used to speaking to large audiences of kids which I already do through my local radio show (TheRadioKid). I have used my radio show to discuss topics that matter to kids like how to make a fire escape plan with your home and a clothing drive for kids who lost their homes in a fire. I also have been involved with the Anti-Bullying Campaign, and from third to fifth grade I created the school newspaper. I also led the 5th grade chapel at my old school, I volunteered to mentor little kids as a summer camp leader, and I was elected as a member of the Kid’s Advisory Council for the local Visitors Bureau. I have also met privately with local government officials to speak up for kids on stuff that matters in our city. This is only some of the things I have done. I can do a lot more for my school if I am on the Student Council. As a new kid at Central, I have a lot of NEW ideas I can bring. -New and more school spirit ideas -New things for us all to do together outside of school -New community opportunities like participation in parades -New fundraisers for us to raise money -New morning announcements with birthdays, sports player of the week and other stuff -New holiday fun at school for Valentine’s Day, Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, The Superbowl, etc. PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!
