My name is Sofia and I am 9 yrs old. My school friend Jess ,who is also 9, and I are going to climb the equivalent height of a mountain in Yosemite called El Capitan. We are going to do this in the Mini Works Sheffield. The reason we are doing this challenge is to support our brave class mates who are being treated at the childrens hospital. One has beaten Leukaemia, one has had brain tumors and another is being treated for arthritis. Life is pretty tough for them, but they carry on enjoying life to the full with the support of the amazing staff at the hospital to try and make life as normal as possible. The challenge is going to be a tough one for Jess and I. There are many faces to El Cap, one is granite and is 900m tall, GULP!. My mum has worked out that we will have to climb 300 times over two days as a tag team. We know that there will be some very sore hands and feet :( but we are determined to complete the climbs :) The challenge will take place on August the 30th and finish on the 31st. With the help of our family, friends and fab team at the Climbing Works we hope to raise around £1000. Please support us by donating as much or as little as you wish.
