My neighbor stopped by tonight to tell me that her little 7 year old Jack Russell had died...was the picture of health, never a problem. Ann had been on the east coast helping out at the birth of her grandbaby. She called home to fill her husband in about the baby...and asked what he was doing. Burying Mitzi in the back yard...Absolutley no idea what killed him. None. Didnt know what she would do she said between sobs...said it couldnt hurt any worse than if it had been Jim. The dog went everywhere with her--they have a law firm and went to work every day. I said when she is ready I will help her find a pup. So then I went to my friend Ally Edgerton who is Russell Rescue--an amazing woman who has saved so many dogs. And up pops her picture reclining in a hospital bed with her arm in a SpongeBob bandage and IVs everywhere.....Apparently she was slicing a bagel and cut herself...3 hrs later her hand was the size of a catchers mitt, red and very swollen and painful...she has had 2 ops on her hand in the past 24 hrs. It is either MRSA or a bacterial infection that rabbits carry! A truly weird day for some of my dog-loving friends.
