My newest, hopefully creepy poem, just in time for Halloween :) The Not So Imaginary Friend You dont see me do you? Though you know im here- I know you feel my presence, I know you sense im near- And you could see and hear me, If you so chose to do- But since you dont believe in me, Theres no convincing you- I watch you from a distance whilst moving through the house- and when it comes to speaking up Im quiet as a mouse - the creaking you heard, the keys you lost- the ball from out of nowhere tossed-its me,its me! and I laugh as you look- frantically searching for something I took- which In the end you always find- how I love to play games with the rational mind- you say you have it figured out- But I can sense a twinge of doubt- And I know you feel me there at night- when I sit on your bed, as you turn out the light- I am the one in the dead of night that lightly tugs your hair- why you act as though youre sound asleep pretending Im not there- and when youre all alone at home and someone calls your name- its me,its me! that youll never see,yes me and my wicked games- Im that figure you see rush by- as you convince yourself its a trick of the eye- deep inside, knowing full well- Im always watching, but youll never tell- Why, everyone would think your insane!- how on this earth could you ever explain- Your efforts my friend would be in vain- your reputation down the drain- And youll never leave where could you go?- theres no place on this earth that I wouldnt follow- Ive been with you since you were small- but you dont remember me at all- I was the friend that no one could see- the one that kept you company- and as you got older you spent less and less time- playing with me,your partner in crime- And then one day you had all but vanished- and from your life my presence banished- But I knew Id find you once again- and my loyalty lies to your dying end- and when youre gone Ill still exist-to add another to my list- Another friend to learn my name- to teach my tricks, to play my games- And what gratitude for such loyalty?!- You wont even acknowledge me- But learn to heed the advice i lend- Get used to me, im here, old friend- Misty Tuttle
