My one musical nod to Christmas on this Profile..... Fairytale Of New York by The Pogues featuring guest vocalist Kirsty MacColl (10 October 1959 – 18 December 2000). The Pogues are a Celtic punk band originally from Kings Cross, a district of Central London, England, UK. The song was written as a Christmas tune in 1987 by band members Jem Finer and Shane MacGowan, lead singer for the band at the time. Released as a single on 23 November 1987, the song - an Irish folk-style ballad - was immediately popular and has become a Christmas favourite. It was later featured on The Pogues 1988 album If I Should Fall From Grace With God. And yes, it is Kirsty - not Kristy. Self-edit before you hit Save, peeples!! In this fan-made video, the song is accompanied by many wonderful winter photos of New York City which is the setting for the story contained in the lyrics. https://youtube/watch?v=m63iWMmsPII
