My parents so far have been religiously performing their democratic rights and responsibilities ever since its inception (1952), and since 1984 have been disagreeing with me on the issue. Even during the 2011 assembly elections here, they were too enthusiastic of their responsibilities. And now that they have seen all the demo(n)cratic drama they could afford to, with all hope and expectations, they are most reluctant to go for it again, seeing its futility. If they at all go, they are going for NOTA. At long last they seem to agree with me, and seem to have realized that just casting a vote is no political awareness. At the most its a duty and a responsibility that one has been instructed to perform (performance of periodic public ratification of elite decision) by the system, which rules on the basis of the peoples choice of their rulers (dubbed representatives) to be ruled. Hope that they have really realized it.
