My patient just complained that the ER doctor wrote down in his note that she does not have a cardiac murmur. Clearly she has a murmur. Well, here is the dilemma in medicine. We are being asked to implement a communication system (Electronic Health Records) that, at best, only slows down the process by 3-5 fold, while simultaneously being bombarded with more work via 3-5 fold more mind-numbing administrative processes, WHILE receiving major pay cuts. Is it really that shocking that he forgot to put down MURMUR??? Whoever advised the President on this matter is a complete sell-out. Our system is so broken that its going to take a revolution to fix it. That revolution is going to be what we work towards at Harmony Health MD. Im not taking these changes lightly and I definitely need your help. Get out and support your doctors. Ask them what you can do to bring this matter to greater public attention. The most sacred thing about health is the doctor-PATIENT relationship. Share your stories with us and we will be your voice to the larger bodies that can begin to implement change towards the RIGHT direction.
