My reply to this statement: "Their heart is wicked... like - TopicsExpress

My reply to this statement: "Their heart is wicked... like ours... fearful and deceitful like us! Who can know the heart of man! We are all wicked... until we hear the voice of God, calling out name... We have to pray for them, love them. It is easy to love the people who are nice to us... so much harder to love the ones who are like this... but if we truly love God... we will truly love the islamists." My reply: We WERE wicked until we had been made new creatures in Christ Jesus! However now we are the Body of Christ and we do not continue to sin. He has given us a new heart and has written His laws on our hearts as He said in His Word... "Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh" ( Ezekiel 36:26). So if the Lord said this would happen then when did you decide that your heart was wicked. Behold the Lord said, I make all things new. Rev. 21:5. and the old has passed away. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." (2 Corinthians 5:17) Stop living in the old wineskin and living form the perspective of that which you left in the baptismal. …"May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life" Romans 6:3 Remember now Romans 7 that says quite clearly that law of sin that wars from within your members to partner with the law of your mind to do the things contrary to the spirit. Romans 7:20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. Stop it. Totally inaccurate according to the Word. We are not fearful and deceitful. Our hearts are not wicked. Unless you willfully choose to be so. Even then the Lord will gracefully correct you and restore you to where and who He has said you are in His Word. Your identity and character flow from within the identity and the character of Jesus! Amen.....
