My response to Oga Pius Adesanmi; Lol. Oga Pius Adesanmi and friend Folabi Akin. Its funny, actually things are terrible in Nigeria. The most terrible things in Nigeria are actually our lack of orderliness, sharp practice of always cutting corners, no belief in the country nigeria and inadequacy in sense of natural justice. Other things like insecurity, lack of basic infrastructures and social welfare are all failures of government , including those of yesteryears which will never be tackled with a wave of wand even if we import 200 Lee Kwan Yu. After all it took Lee Kwan Yu over 20 years to turn Singapore around. . But I can tell you that the poverty in Nigeria is exaggerated. Ive worked as a consultant to some local NGOs in the past and I can tell you that they magnify the squalor when they write for grants from international donor agencies like Ford Foundation and USAID. That is where the statistics of 70% living under poverty line is gotten from. Let me give you an instance . Poverty line is defined as living under one dollar per day. Living includes, food, shelter and clothing. This interprets that out of every 10 Nigerians, 7 live below 170 naira per day. It means that, seven of every ten Nigerians are so poor that the daily value of their food, shelter and clothes is 170 naira. Now, this is not about Jonathan. Its about our self pride as a people. But ironically, the same Nigerians are the highest consumers of champagne in the world . Hahahahahahah. Its really bad in this country sir that Boko Haram is striking because of poverty, carrying hundred of AK 47 worth 500,000 each, Surface to air missiles worth 2 million each, Mounted sub machine guns worth 3 million each, driving Toyota hiluxes worth 4.5 million each, while more hungry nations like Chad and Nigera are too feeble to experience terrorism. But lets join hands and help the country. Rather than attacking government and magnifying ugliness, it will pay off if successful Nigerians put that same efforts in setting up capacity building and enterprise development foundations wherever they meet poverty.
