My sentiments exactly! I, like others, have experienced disappointment within the church. I have even been hurt by people in the church. But I have never been hurt by or disappointed in Jesus. My commitment to the church is a reflection of my commitment to Jesus, not to the broken people like myself who come to the church seeking relationship with Jesus and other people. I realize, too, that I cannot come to church only to get (although I do receive many blessings!) but that I have been created and equipped by God to give to others, as well. When I focus on the giving instead of the getting, I am always happier.
