My son just called me from Germany where he is stationed as an airborne qualified RN with a Mobile Surgical Hospital. He was just notified that his unit will be deploying to Iraq within the next couple of weeks for at least 9 months. This will be his second deployment to Iraq and third to war zones (one deployment to Uzbekistan). I see mission creep in Iraq beginning and as a veteran myself and the father of an active duty soldier, I am tired of seeing the military consisting of working class people going off to fight wars started by the corporate elite for profit who never step in harms way or see their children step in harms way in an American uniform.
