My tearful prayers for most of my precious friends have been heard and answered - Thank you Jesus Christ for your faithfulness. Eight of my friends led by “Mama”, the crippled doe that I have been honored to know for 9 years now, have come and taken there places, where I feed them, looking up toward the house with their trusting eyes, for dinner. Tears of thankfulness flow down my face. I believe, with all of my heart, that because I love them so much, my prayers have been answered. This is His way, ASK and it shall be given to you. Four years ago when we had the “Blizzard” of almost 4 feet of snow, I was so worried about them. No deer for many days and the very hour that the snow plows made it down the hill, here they came with crippled Mama in the lead - 17 deer, half starved and exhausted from trying to walk in the deep snow. I have been seeing Mama, who probably had one front leg shot when she was young, all these many years. She moves very slowly and can really only hop, but she is a wonderful mother and the wisest of all. Somehow, with God’s help, she has led them to a place of safety during this recent slaughter here. I have not seen her once in 6 months, and there she was standing there with 7 others right where I always feed them. I said “Wait here Mama, I’ll be right there.” The unused bag of corn in the trunk that represented my hopes was opened and each deer got it’s own little pile of corn. It is still hunting season here and I entrust protection of these precious ones to their Creator who loves them even more than I do. Thank you Jesus you are always faithful and I know that you are coming soon and then all of this death and sadness will be done - for ever and ever more.
