My thoughts on Dark Souls II after the 35 hour mark are pretty - TopicsExpress

My thoughts on Dark Souls II after the 35 hour mark are pretty much the same as when I first started playing. It feels like a cross between Demons Souls and Dark Souls but with far more added in the way of player convenience. To compensate for this they made the game hilariously harder than either previous title in the way of enemy and boss difficulty. I ran through the entirety of Demons with no player summoning and in Dark, I summoned on three of the boss fights the first time through. DS2 however I have summoned on over half of them and even then, the entire party getting wiped isnt uncommon. Regular enemies are also much more challenging than anything Ive ever seen in a video game. You cant block every attack or dodge in every situation so you are forced to adapt to battles on the fly. The parry frames have also been dramatically altered and even smaller enemies have attacks that cannot be parried in some cases so there is no such thing as a win-win maneuver anymore. Its turning out to be my favorite game in the series so far but my desire to break my controller is more common than the previous two titles combined. Good times. :P
