My thoughts on focusing on Black men and boys aka MY BROTHERS KEEPER...I find it troubling that people have countered this notion as if doing so is at the detriment of Black women. I dont believe so. And why cant we focus on a demographic that has the lowest life expectancy, highest incarceration rate, highest unemployment, highest drop out rate, etc. And sistas, brothas, feminists and progressives there are many foundations that focus on women and girl issues - gender equality, reproductive justice, income inequality,etc... HOWEVER money in these women categories typically exclude black and Latina organizations and programs.
