My thoughts on the complaints of Duck Commander/Duck Dynasty hunters.... So often I here people complain about Duck Dynasty hunters. For some reason that really strikes a nerve with me. I was duck hunting way before Duck Dynasty ever got popular by the way. I grew up in the woods. Mainly deer hunting and squirrel hunting with my dad and brothers in SW Arkansas then beginning to duck hunt as a young teenager with my buddies in school. Done a lot of turkey hunting and fishing along the way as well. These people that complain about these hunters come off as if they are better or more experienced than them. Granted they might be. Often I hear them say something like this, I hate Duck Dynasty hunters. They are out here messing up my hunt! Sky blasting ducks with there Mossberg shotgun, using Flambeau decoys and cheap calls. Here is what I want to say to those guys.... Go spend your daddies money on a lease so you can hunt by yourself instead of spending it on that 20 thousand dollar mud boat and Dakota decoys. Dont get me wrong guys, there are a lot of good people with nice boats and hunting gear that I dont have a problem with. These people that are complaining about these new comers to the sport dont see the big picture. Duck Commander and Duck Dynasty has done a lot of good for a lot of people. A lot! They are good Christian people who enjoy the outdoors. Whats wrong with that? Their message has probably kept a lot of kids from being exposed to a lot of bad things that this world has to offer today. Wise man once told me, late nights on the water equals late nights away from the bar. He was referring to staying out on the lake all night yoyoing. When I duck hunt I normally hunt private land with close friends and family. I will occasionally hunt public land from time to time but my point is this... Id much rather hunt on the lake with an inexperienced duck hunter than drive down the side of the road and watch drug deals get made, see the top of folks underwear and deal with all the other mess that goes on in todays society. Duck Commander has a good message.. Hunt ducks and love The Lord... Whats not to like?
