My two cents: Lack of communication plagues our town right now. As much as it angers people to see money as part of the issue with the football program. Money is what keeps things moving. The board has to bring it into the equation whether you want to hear it or not. That is part of their job as board members to look at every angle of a situation. Football is a very large revenue for our school. So as much as you disagree with comments made, it doesnt change the fact that it had to be entered into the equation. As far as low numbers on the football team, here again, there are many factors as to why we are where we are. There are more girls than boys. Did you know while we struggle to make a full football team we have THREE high school volleyball teams, 17 high school and junior high students make up up our cross country team, we have a cheerleading squad that placed fourth and first in competitions last week? And our band has more that 25 members? We havent had a band like that is some time! How about we show respect and show those kids how proud we are that they are Roaders. Celebrate their time and efforts that go into representing Bradford. Times are tough. Kids are working. Kids are also focusing on their future. There are opportunities for Juniors and Seniors we never had. They also could have home issues and financial issues we know nothing about. Everyone has a story, everyone has a reason. Dogging each other just continues to shed more dark clouds over our town. We dont have to like the decisions made but we can all be proactive is supporting and building our kids up instead of upsetting one another and embarrassing our kids any further. No one is going to tell me its my kids job to keep football alive in Bradford. What if the band was failing, are you going to make your kid play the trombone? You might not like the decision made by the board but you can bet their votes took a lot more into consideration than what you think. If you have an issue go to the source. Lets stop bashing and moving forward. Alumni if you love football talk to the kids and ask them why? Or tell them what the experience did for you. We need to positively move forward.
