My uncle recently gave me a KR1s. Its in very bad shape. It was a victim of a flood last 2009 and my uncle never bothered to fix it up. The bike was still covered with mud debris when I got the bike, took me awhile just to clean it up. The frame has a crack in the lower left part which needs to be welded, the electronics is a mess, the fairings and the tail end isn’t stock anymore, the powervalve mechanism is already gone. The exhaust pipe is from a four stroke bike (I don’t know why!). Just started trying to fix it up. Since im located at the southern end of the Philippines, parts are not readily available and ordering online would be expensive for me with the dollar and peso conversion. I have been experimenting on parts that are readily available in my area. So far, the ignition coil and CDI is done using modern honda parts and im using a carburetor intended for yamaha. Been making my own cables from Yamaha DT125 parts. A G.I. pipe was shoved into the power valve to render it non functional. Since I will not be able to bring it back to its original form, planning to convert it to a street fighter bike for daily use. Would like some inputs and help from you guys. This is my first sport bike.
