My views on universal salvation (The concept that all people will go to heaven without any need of faith in Jesus as savior) I AM NOT POSTING THIS TO ARGUE WITH ANYONE So please dont waste your time trying to argue with me The last thing I want to happen is this post to turn into a place of argument between to opposing viewpoints So please have the courtesy to honor this request I feel like it is time to make my views clear on this issue I have been studying it for a while and I endeavor to keep an open mind about interpreting scripture (because I have been wrong so many times before) :-) I dont want to ever think I know everything because I dont and Im still learning I never want to come to the place where I think I have arrived I want to stay teachable ALL the days of my life Now that I have said all of that :-) lol Let me begin by saying I would never want to sacrifice a person or a relationship on the altar of doctrinal disagreement Im here to love and help people PERIOD And I am a man of peace and reconciliation There is already enough argument and disagreement in the body of Christ. I take Abraham Lincolns approach I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends. -Abraham Lincoln But in doing this I endeavor to not compromise what I believe But you seek to love and value people even in the midst of disagreement Especially in the midst of disagreement And there are definitely times and you must take a hard stance and confront error with truth But it must always be done with a motivation of love and a heart of humility Because It really is ALL about pointing people to Jesus and walking in love I also do not believe everyone has to have the exact same views to be friends or share fellowship or even go to the same church I believe people should have the freedom to be led by God and make their own choices I do not believe pastors and leaders are called to be dictators but helpers and pointers to Jesus All of that being said... I believe that the cross was enough to take care of the sin of the entire world. Jesus really did do a good job. Provision has been made by the power of the cross for every single person to be saved. Yes the blood is THAT powerful. But I also believe that scripture makes it very clear that we receive this gift by faith. God, in his love and grace has given us a free will We can choose life and we can choose death But the choice is ours Love will always give freedom He will not force us We have a choice And that is a part of the beauty of this life We are not robots We are not automatons We are created in his image and we have been given the power of choice Adam chose Jesus chose And we to get to choose When he said it was finished it really was Our part is to simply believe He did EVERYTHING else But our part is to believe The Holy Spirit has promised that he will lead us and guide us into all truth I am confident that he will do just that I LOVE YOU ALL!!!! My heart is to simply do whats right according to what God has revealed to me Im still learning and will continue to... :-)
