#MyMother 6 The last time I saw my mom, I didnt see her with a cape. I dont think she has one. But I do know that she is a superhero. In every sense of the word. For the better part of this week, I dedicated this series to my mother. With every series, however, I got immense feedback from readers. Daughters and sons celebrating their mothers and sharing their stories with me; ladies inspired to be better women and inspirational mothers; mothers motivated to be their kids super heroes. I have received an invite to feature my story on a blog for mothers. Of the many mails I got, one was from a mother of two, several continents away, who prays to be remembered by her kids like I remember and celebrate my mum. Another told me these stories caused her to cry, seeing where we have come from to get here. The responses have been awesome. And, for me, fulfilling. It has been a long walk from the past to the present. Many who know my family now [or thought they did] are just realising that it really hasnt been an easy ride and that we have come through thick and thin to be where we are now. My superhero mum has been an integral part of that walk. Do I think my mum is the best? Thats a silly question, if you ask me. The idea of comparative and superlative analysis to determine quality is silly. I am not interested in whether my mum is better than yours. My mum is mine, and she stood in her space and time to create impact. Thats all that really matters to me. It is not a war of whos best and whos second best or whatever. This is a celebration of motherhood and womanhood and virtues. I know that virtues are not an exclusive preserve of women of the older generation, so even in this generation of empty-headed girls, I do know that there are deep-minded ladies. I have met many of them. I have heard of several of them. And I am confident that, because young ladies who have virtues still exist, the world has a hope. So, may I ask a favour today? Even as I celebrate my mum, could you take time out to place a call to all the SuperMums and SuperWomen and SuperLadies in your life simply to tell them you VALue them? Your wives, fiancées, partners, girlfriends, mothers, grandmothers... Its not mothers day. But everyday should be mothers day, because everyday mothers work and save the world. Thats why theyre superheroes! Celebrate them! …I VALue You AKPOVETA, Valentine ‘t |EffectivenessCOACH @iam_avt BB PIN: 76A8BFDD BB Channel PIN: C00214C5D
