NAH BRO, BUT SHES RIGHT. I thought I was the only person upset about that, because anytime I brought it up, people would just brush it off. I hate the term African American, or any other similar racial terms for that matter. Asian American? Spanish American? I hate it. It sounds like the country owns the race, like thats their own special blend of it. You dont see black people in France being called African French, or Irish people in Russia being called Irish Russians. And its like what Brianne said (I shared this from her), not all black people come from Africa. You see someone whos black and automatically label them as African American without even knowing what they really are. Heaven forbid that happen to someone from say, Hawaii, and someone called them Asian American because they look similar. All hell would break loose. Stop labeling people like that. If someone wants to acknowledge their ethnic heritage, okay. Just call them Asian or Turkish or whatever. But otherwise, just say AMERICAN. (Not the most flattering title, but.) Why do white people get to be called American, but everyone else gets a special label? Is white the default color? Because last time I checked, there are dozens of ethnicities and nationalities under the category of white. You hardly ever hear Scottish American or anything of the sort, and when you do, it typically refers to the era when people were coming to this country via Angel and Ellis Island in boatloads, not the modern day. So stop it. Honestly, how can people say shes crazy, ESPECIALLY another POC? You should be ashamed of yourself.
