NAME: Lewis A. Tucker Sr. DATELINE: Woodruff Mr. Lewis Alvin Tucker Sr., 85, of 3101 Price House Road passed away at his home on Monday. October 06, 2014. A native of Greenville County, he was the son of the late Lewis A. and Jessie Mae Watson Tucker. He was the Owner of Lewis Tucker & Sons Small Engine Repairs and also a retired employee with Spartan Mills and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Tucker was a US Navy veteran having served during WWII and in the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Southerland Tucker of the home; three sons, Lewis A. Tucker II and wife Karen of Boiling Springs, Michael Tucker of the home and Paul Hamby of Stafford, KS; four daughters, Pat Leopard and husband Larry of Roebuck, Wanda Dowis of Spartanburg, Linda Culbreth and husband Mike of Lake Bowen and Beth Marler and husband Marty of Woodruff; one brother, John Tucker of Woodruff; one sister, Evelyn Moore of Tacoma, WA; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by Charles Crocker, son of the Heart. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jewell Nelson and a sister, Esther Leen Foreman. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 PM on Thursday, October 9th at Forest Hills Funeral Home prior to the funeral service at 3:00 PM held in the Stribling Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jeff Wells and Mr. Lewis Tucker II. Interment will follow at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.
