A dumped boyfriend pelted his ex-girlfriends home with eggs before ripping the head off her pet parrot. Steve Froggatt, 58, targeted the womans house in Deepdale, Preston, Lancs, after the pair had separated. The woman, who has recently been treated for cancer, returned home from a night out to find eggs had been thrown all over the outside of her house. She went inside and found African Grey parrot Deanos cage empty and his feathers all over the floor. When she confronted Froggatt with a text saying: Why have you killed my bird? she claims he simply replied: You killed me. Former brewery worker Froggatt, of Tanterton, has pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage relating to Deano and damaging brickwork at her home. Police had been called to domestic incidents at the couples home several times but no charges were pressed. When the retired nurse called time on the relationship she allowed him to keep a key so he could collect his possessions. Instead, he used that key to kill the pet that she loved so much. The 58-year-old reportedly admitted to police he necked the bird and pulled its head off because it was annoying. Deanos body has never been found. Froggatt, who is currently remanded in custody, pleaded guilty to criminal damage at Preston Magistrates Court and is next due to appear on October 7.
