NCI Few people outside of the financial world wholly understand - TopicsExpress

NCI Few people outside of the financial world wholly understand the impact that a full government shutdown could have on this nation, starting with a failure to extend the debt ceiling. To say that such a move would be disastrous is an understatement of epic proportions. Think of a depression much worse than that of the 1930s. That Members of Congress would even think about allowing such a condition to occur is proof that in the Congress, political party trumps the needs of its citizens. Members of Congress seldom consider the needs of citizens, unless of course the cause will make the Member of Congress look good. Even during normal election cycles, few Members of Congress really worry about being reelected. A certain number of each party will be elected, so the odds are good that party affiliation will see them through to reelection. There is only one way for us to ensure that Members of Congress pay attention to us. And to that end, I propose a grassroots program that I call NCI for “NO CONGRESSIONAL INCUMBENT” for the next six years. That’s how long it will take to remove all of them. No matter how good your representative or senator has been in the past, no matter how friendly they purport to be to your individual cause, the only way the citizenry will be taken seriously is to remove ALL incumbents. Don’t get me wrong, this is painful for me. I have made friends of Members of Congress over the years. But the country is hungry for direct action. I’m not proposing a million man march on Washington. I am however, proposing the only fully lawful method of getting the out of control Congress to pay attention; remove them all. If you agree, please share this proposal and let’s see if we really can make a difference. NCI - NO CONGRESSIONAL INCUMBENTS (for six years). John J.
