NEW Disruption in the Stockport area until further notice - A signalling problem caused by cable theft is disruption services in the Stockport area. You can follow this incident on twitter by using hashtag #Stockport Because of this, journey times may be extended by up to 20 minutes, and the following changes will apply until further notice: Arriva Trains Wales Trains between Crewe and Manchester Piccadilly will be diverted and not call at Wilmslow or Stockport. CrossCountryTrains from Stafford to Manchester will be diverted via Wilmslow (calling additionally there), and not call at Stoke-on-Trent, Macclesfield or StockportReplacement buses have been requested to run between Wilmslow and MacclesfieldPassengers may travel to Manchester for a connecting service back to Stockport, Macclesfield or Stoke-on-Trent, as these services are able to run as normal Alternative travel options Passengers may use:London Midland services from Stafford to Crewe via Stoke-on-TrentVirgin Trains services from Stoke-on-Trent to Manchester Piccadilly East Midlands Trains from Sheffield towards Manchester will be diverted and not call at Stockport - passengers should travel to Manchester Piccadilly for connections back to Stockport. First TransPennine Express Trains from Sheffield towards Manchester will be diverted and not call at Stockport - passengers should travel to Manchester Piccadilly for connections back to Stockport. Northern Rail Trains between Stockport and Manchester will not run - replacement buses have been ordered Virgin Trains Trains from Stoke-on-Trent to Manchester will be diverted via Wilmslow, and not call at Macclesfield or Stockport - buses have been ordered to run. Passengers can travel to Manchester Piccadilly for connections back to Stockport and Macclesfield.
