NEW YEAR BRINGS NEW TAXES, FEES AND FINES: Just as you get hit with those credit card bills reflecting holiday spending, several of lifes necessities are going to cost a little bit more for Chicagoans starting Jan. 1, 2014. The city of Chicago needs revenue to close a massive budget deficit, and that means new or increased fees, fines and taxes. Cigarettes will be $.50 more per pack, water and sewer fees are going up along with property taxes, more speed cameras are on the way and watching TV will also be more expensive. Thoughts?
