NEW YEAR CELEBRATION: OGOR TASKS CONSTITUENTS ON PEACE, LOVE AND UNITY. *Promise to attract more Federal government presence to Isoko land Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency and Deputy House leader, Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Leonard Okuweh Ogor has sent a congratulatory message to the good people of Isoko Nation on the successful transition to the new year, 2015. In his New Year message, Hon Leo Ogor congratulated the people of Isoko federal constituency for witnessing the New Year stating that God’s unquantifiable mercy and love sustained us till this moment. While admonishing the people to always be grateful to God, he also called on Isoko people to draw more closer to God and be dedicated in their Christian lives as a sign of their gratefulness and gratitude. “I, on behalf of my family happily wish the people of Isoko nation, my constituents, a happy New Year celebration and for the successful crossover. As a people, we have experienced the good and bad especially in the past year but our collective resolve to forge a common front has kept us all. Its not all of us that saw 2014 made it to the new year 2015. Let us continue to show appreciation to God by drawing closer to him this new year.” He stated He also expressed his condolences to the families of the bereaved constituents especially Mr. Brilliant Anaro who was assassinated at Ozoro Kingdom, Chief E.D Ekee who was assassinated at his residence at Ughelli and all those that lost their lives in one way or the other. “It’s unfortunate we lost them. God knows the reason for everything. It’s my belief that the perpetrators of these condemnable acts will not escape the wrath of God. I pray for the soul of our brothers who lost their lives to rest in the bosom of the Lord. May God grant their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost.” Ogor called on Isoko people to always see the pain of one as the pain of all calling on Isoko to always show love however small to their neighbor irrespective of our differences and affiliations stating that we came into this world with nothing. “I want to challenge Isoko people to always imbibe the spirit of love, unity and oneness especially in this New Year. We must learn to be our neighbour’s keeper and show love in our own little way. We came into this world with nothing and certainly we will leave with nothing. We will only be remembered by the good work of our hands when we are gone. I read a portion of the Hole Bible which state that, of all, Love is the greatest. So, let us continue to show brotherly love and the fruit of that love will not depart from us.” The Oyibo Isoko also used the opportunity to thank the people of Isoko ethnic nationality for the support given to him over the years at the National Assembly stating that without their support and prayers he couldn’t have achieved all he has achieved so far while describing his success as the collective success of the Isoko people “I wish to thank my constituents for their immeasurable support for my representation over the years. I thank them especially for their prayers and understanding without which I wouldn’t have been able to achieve anything achievable. I cannot singlehandedly lay claims to whatever achievements because I wouldn’t have achieved whatever achievements recorded without the support and prayers of the people. Whatever I have achieved today, we all achieved it. We all did it. We must congratulate ourselves for our achievements in Isoko land through my representation at the National Assembly” Rt Hon Leo Ogor also reiterated his determination toward attracting more significant projects to Isoko nation in the New Year. The Deputy House Leader also used the opportunity to assured the good people of Igbide community of his resolve to ensure immediate commencement of work on Akugha road soonest stating that its construction is one of the greatest concern of all Isoko people and therefore not negotiable. He however reminded the good people of Erowha kingdom on the construction of Erowha road as promised in his letter to the community on her annual general conference which took place last year December stating that the construction of the road is paramount to the development and growth of Isoko nation. Speaking on the three new health centers under construction at Ivrogbo, Olomoro and Owodhokpokpor-Igbide, Ogor promised to expedite action to ensure the speedy completion and equipping of the various health centers to ensure that the people of Isoko nation received adequate healthcare why promising to influence the construction of more heath centers in other communities that are yet to access good and quality health care. “Health is wealth. It’s my uttermost concern to ensure the completion, furnishing and equipping of the three health Centers undergoing construction at the moment thereby increasing the number of Federal health centre in Isoko federal constituency to six. I want to state here that Isoko nation deserves more health centre. Our people deserves unrestricted access to good health care. I will put in more effort to ensure the construction of more health centre in communities which lack access to medical facilities” Expressing his displeasure over the unemployment situation of most Isoko graduates, Hon Leo Ogor assured Isoko people of his resolve in ensuring that more Isoko sons and daughters are employed into various federal Ministries, Agencies and Parastatal thereby adding to the over 150 Isoko graduates already employed in various Ministries, Agencies and Parastatal. The Deputy Majority Leader called on Isoko graduates to always take advantage of any employments opportunity by sending application when necessary and also seek his assistance as he is ever ready, available and committed to ensure the employment of more Isoko sons and daughters into relevant Ministries, Agencies and Parastatal. Ogor also assured the good people of Isoko nation of his continual commitment in ensuring the empowerment of more constituents promising to kick start another round of empowerments of constituents soonest as plans are currently underway to commence another round of empowerments Lamenting the poor and porous security situation in Isoko land, Ogor also reminded Isoko people of his uttermost concerns toward the security of live and properties of his constituents. He promised to continue his assistance/support to security agencies in a bid to curb crime in Isokoland through community policing/vigilante group by donating more Hilux vans to community vigilante groups with the necessary security apparatus to enhance their operations. He also charged Isoko people to be more vigilant by reporting any suspicious movement or acts in their environs to security agencies adding that security is a collective responsibility which shouldn’t be left to security agencies alone. “We all have a role in securing our immediate environment. Policing job shouldn’t be left for security agencies alone. Security involved all of us. Security agencies work with information. I therefore call on Isoko people to be vigilant in this new year by reporting all forms of criminal acts to the appropriate security agencies.” He stated. Rt Hon Leo Ogor called on communities with immediate need/grievances to always bring such grievances/need to his attention through the necessary channel promising to employ all necessary means to address challenges bothering Isoko people. With the 2015 general elections around the corner, Ogor called on the people to troop out en-mass to cast their votes for the Peoples Democratic Party especially in the House of Representatives election to ensure uninterrupted flow of dividends of democracy to Isoko land from the federal.
