NEW signing Ondrej Celustka’s ambition is to play his way into a permanent move to the Stadium of Light. The Czech right-back (pictured) arrived on Wearside this week on a season-long loan from Turkish side Trabzonspor. But he hopes that he can show by the quality of his performances in the campaign ahead that Sunderland should take up their option to make the move permanent next year. “I would like to do well here at Sunderland and make this a permanent move,” he said. “That is my hope. “I want so much to stay here, but, of course, I know it depends upon me and how I perform.” The 24-year-old, a former Czech Republic Under-21 international, spoke earlier of how he hoped his move to the Premier League would improve his hopes of being capped by the senior side. For the moment though, he is concentrating purely on settling in at Sunderland. “I know about Sunderland and I know all about the Premier League,” he revealed. “When I was young, I used to watch the Premier League all the time, so I know nearly every club and especially the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea. “Some are better known than others, but I knew about Sunderland and, for me, I feel happy that I am here and it is a big motivation for me to do well. When I came here, I was very happy. “I see the quality of the pitches and the facilities and it is very, very nice – better than the quality I have experienced in Turkey and Italy and that makes me happy. “Then I meet the coach, Paolo Di Canio, and it is very clear he is very professional. “It is good for me that I can talk to him in Italian, because I know quite a bit of that language from my loan spell at Palermo. “I know how to move on the pitch because I understand his tactics, so I have found it fairly simple at the beginning. “It’s just a shame that I have yet to see the stadium because everyone told me from the very beginning that it is a very nice stadium. “That will come very soon though.”
