NEWS: Agencies including the police and #Gloucester City Council have come together with a local supermarket and community members to spruce up an untidy park in the Barton Street area. The clean-up at Napier Park saw over 20 workers don reflective jackets and pick up litter, strim hedges and paint the children’s play equipment. The action was taken in response to concerns about youths acting anti-socially in the area. PC Kelly Akers, Barton Community beat officer, said: “We felt that Napier park looked very tired and run down,so working in partnership with Gloucester City Council, Asda, Cllr Patel and local volunteers, we did this work to give it a new lease of life and hopefully make it more appealing for local children to play in. “If the community can take pride in the park we’re hopeful the incidents there will reduce.”
