NEWS FLASH FOR BRACKET PARTICIPANTS!!!! Weve cleared some dates, adjusted some programs and now have things dialed in for a make-up event for the event that was lost on May 31 due to rain. A make-up event has been added for Saturday, August 2. --Revision to program--- The 2014 Gateway Motorsports Park Championship E.T. Bracket Series - Revised on June 19, 2014 – following make-up addition. The 2014 Gateway Motorsports Park Championship E.T. Bracket Series will consist of ten (10) races. Participant’s eight (8) best finishes in the ten race series will count toward the title. All dates and times are subject to change. The schedule has been adjusted to the rain-out that occurred just prior to round 1 of eliminations for the May 31 event. The date of Saturday, August 2 has been added. April 12 Race #1 – Season Kick-Off April 26 Race #2 May 10 Race #3 -Nitro Rendezvous May 24 Race #4 – with NMCA May 25 (Sunday) Race #5 –with NMCA May 31 Race #6 – Rain postponed following time trials June 28 Race #7 July 3 (Thursday) Race #8 – Late Night Special July 26 Race #9 – Grillin’ at Gateway + Ford Day August 2 Make-Up – Make-Up Event for May 31 Race #6 August 16 Race #10 – Points Final Participating Championship Classes Please refer to 2014 NHRA Summit Racing Series Division 3 E.T. Finals Bracket Rules for class specifications and requirements. In addition, the NHRA 2014 rulebook will be adhered to in conducting our event. Championships will be presented for the following classes: VP Racing Fuels Super Pro (7.00 – 11.99) - ¼ mile Six-B Apparel Pro (9.00 – 13.99) - ¼ mile Sportsman (12.00 – 19.99) – ¼ mile Pro Bike (7.50 – 15.99) – ¼ mile Street Bike (7.50 – 15.99) – ¼ mile Team Gateway for the 2014 E.T. Finals will be comprised of 32 total vehicles from our Gateway Championship events (listed above) and 2 High School participants from our Wide-Open Wednesday Series. Only racers who have signed up for points eligibility and have competed in VP Racing Fuels Super Pro, Six-B Apparel Pro, Sportsman, Pro Bike and Street Bike will be eligible for competition at the 2014 Summit E.T. Racing Series NHRA Finals in Indianapolis. All racers competing in VP Racing Fuels Super Pro, Six-B Apparel Pro and Sportsman, who have registered for points participation, will be eligible for Contingency Connection awards at each point event. Bonus E.T. Bracket Point Classes 1/8 Mile At select Gateway Motorsports Park bracket events, non-NHRA E.T. Finals classes will be contested as bonus categories. Points will be calculated for these classes but they are not eligible for consideration for Team Gateway positions. Race winners will receive prize money based on the posted payout schedule as well as Contingency Connection awards. The overall point winner will be recognized at the 2014 awards banquet and will be presented with a trophy, gift certificate and jacket. Top Eliminator (1/8 mile Electronics) - 4.50 and slower Mod Eliminator (1/8 mile Non-Electronics) - 5.70 and slower Modified Eliminator and Top Eliminator will be contested at the following seven (7) events. All events will count toward the year-end award. April 12 Race #1 April 26 Race #2 May 10 Race #3 May 31 Race #4 June 28 Race #5 July 26 Race #6 August 2 Make-Up for May 31 August 16 Race #7 Top Eliminator and Mod Eliminator will not be contested during the NMCA event on May 24 & 25 or during the Late Night event on July 3. • Drivers competing in multiple classes must have each class listed on their car. • Drivers entering in multiple classes are solely responsible for quickly returning to the lanes between rounds of competition. All classes will be based on 10 minute turn-around rules. • All drivers and cars must meet minimum NHRA competition guidelines. Please refer to NHRA 2014 rulebook. • Most events will feature two rounds of time trials per class followed by eliminations. (The exception is the NMCA event on Sunday, May 25 which will only feature 1 time trial). Schedule can be adjusted at the sole discretion of the race director. • Most bracket events will feature one round of buybacks. • Please refer to gatewaymsp and monthly e-mail update for schedule information as they will change based on event schedule/special features.
