NEWS RELEASE: Police charge two men in spa robberies Howard County police have charged two men in connection with a robbery and an attempted robbery of local spas along the Route 1 corridor. Andre Hairston, 31, of 1827 Wycliffe Road in Parkville, and Antoine Dyson, 32, of 6838 Sturbridge Drive in Baltimore, each were charged with two counts of armed robbery, robbery, assault and theft. The charges stem from two incidents that occurred on the same night, Sept. 3. Police were called to the Silk Spa in the 8600 block of Washington Boulevard in Jessup around 8:30 p.m. for a report of an attempted robbery. The suspects entered the business posing as customers. Witnesses reported Hairston displayed a folding knife and grabbed a female employee by the wrist, pushing her to the ground. Another employee attempted to flee, and Hairston slammed her arm in a door several times. The suspects drove off in a dark Dodge Durango bearing a Virginia tag. Witnesses provided the tag number to police. Nothing was taken from the business. In the second incident around 10:50 p.m., also on Sept. 3, police received a report of a robbery at the Oriental Spa in the 6300 block of Washington Boulevard in Elkridge. Two men matching the descriptions of the Silk Spa suspects entered the business posing as customers. The suspects took a cash box from the office and fled in a dark Dodge Durango bearing a Virginia tag. Through investigation, police identified Hairston and Dyson as the suspects. Both are being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $1 million bond. ###
