NEWS UPDATE : 51 hirelings killed, 4 detained in five day Marghab operation in Badghis province (of Afghanistan) Wednesday, 28 August 2013 BADGHIS, Aug. 28 – The operation launched by Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate Joi Kanj area as part of Khalid bin Walid spring offensive ended after a 5 day period which inflicted heavy losses on the enemy, according to officials reporting from Marghab district of Badghis province. It is said that the fighting which ended early yesterday afternoon left as many as 51 hireling gunmen dead, 19 others wounded with 5 check posts overrun as well as 4 gunmen detained and 2 PK machine guns, 1 pistol and 11 AK rifles seized. Officials say that 5 others from a check post including their commander (Dawood) surrendered themselves as well as 1 PK machine gun and 4 AK rifles, adding that a large region spanning from Joi Kar all the way up to Qochjaghor has been completely cleared from enemy presence and is now under the control of Mujahideen.
