NEWS UPDATE: State Vice president Khumbo Kachali has finally announced that he has joined Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) at a rally currently underway in Mzimba. The rally has been convened by Kachali. I am here to answer your questions. You have been asking me where do we go from here? Who do we vote for? Who loves the north? In 2004 I asked you to vote for Bingu wa Mutharika, today I am asking you again to vote for Professor Peter Mutharika as president. I know you might be asking why Ive come back to DPP after they chased me. Those who rejected me have also rejected you (Northerners). I know DPP might have wronged us (Northerners) & so did the previous parties including this one (referring to PP). Ironically, DPP also rejected him in 2010 alongside President Joyce Banda. Kachali has warned Mutharika against dumping northerners after elections. Dont forget us after we usher you into power. Kachali said he arrived at the decision to join DPP after carefully scrutinising all the 12 presidential candidates and found out that it is only Peter Mutharika that can develop the Northern Region. Present at the rally to welcome Kachali is DPP president Peter Mutharika and his runng mate Saulos Chilima, Goodall Gondwe, Callista Mutharika and Professor Peter Mwanza among other DPP dignitaries.
