NFL Round Up for Championship Weekend: WOW, just wow. This weekend proved that the 2014 Playoffs are without a doubt one of the best playoffs of all time. But before we get to the SB, lets discuss how Denver and Seattle got there. - Sundays afternoon match was not really about the Pats vs Broncos. It was Brady vs Manning. Manning lived up to the hype with another 400 yard game and 2 TDs. While Brady seemed a bit out of sync for 3 quarters. He overthrew and misled open receivers, was hurried and sacked on several occasions, and didnt really make any plays until the 4th Quarter. The TSN Turning Point came on a harmless looking play. Wes Welker ran a WR pick on Talib that forced him out of the game. From that moment on, D Thomas had a monster game. Dennard could not keep up with the route running and speed and was shredded for 6 catches, 100+ yards, and 1 TD. - The evening matchup was wild! A classic nail biting finish capped off with an interception to end the game. Seattles D was outstanding in almost every aspect of this game. Forcing 3 turnovers in the 4th Quarter, holding Kapernick under 150 passing yards, and keeping Frank Gore at bay. The biggest flaw to Seattle D plan was Kaerpernick on the ground. He rushed for 120+ yards and picked up big yardages almost every run. Seattles offense is improving and Wilson is starting to show flashes of brilliance, but there is no way they can compete in a shootout with the Broncos. Yesterdays glaring deficiency was their awful Redzone play. 1 Fumble, 2 FGs in three attempts. That is not good enough to win SBs. - There is so many story lines going into the Superbowl. Old-School QB vs New QB, Best Offense vs Best Defense, Manning in cold weather, Manning & the WRs vs Seattles Legion of Boom, can Seattle keep up in scoring, will Sherman stay quiet, etc. All in all, I think this is a coin flip game. I dont think that cold weather will effect Manning at all for this game. But I dont see him scoring more than 24 points this game. Russell Wilson will need to get Lynch going early to setup more deep play action passes. All in all, I think that Broncos come out on top 24-17. Manning throws for 285, 2 TDs, and takes home the SB MVP.
