NIGERIANS ARE BRILLIANT!! Nigerian graduate unable to land a job finds brilliant way to stand out from the crowd By RADAR.NG |August 20, 2014 Alfred Ajani applied for over 300 jobs after graduating from college a few months ago but feared he wasn’t doing enough to differentiate himself from the other applicants. The 22-year-old marketing specialist was worried he couldn’t really stand out among all the applicants with similar methods and decided to take a different approach in catching the attention of prospective employers, one that abandoned simply emailing his résumé and cover letter. According to Daily Mail, Ajani went to a London train station near his home just this morning and held out a sign saying “Marketing graduate (BA Hons 2:1 Coventry Uni) Ask for CV.” The “BA Hons 2:1″ signifies that he has obtained an honor’s degree requiring an honor’s thesis and achieved the second-most distinguished Bachelor’s Degree in England. The last part refers to Coventry University in Coventry, England. Ajani quickly found himself conversing with commuters about possible positions. His cell phone was buzzing with inquiries hours into his endeavor. He told Daily Mail, At first people just looked at me but after about 10 minutes people starting stopping and talking. They said they’d never seen anything like it before and were really impressed. Ajani has since received several offers for promising jobs and has an interview this afternoon. One woman worked in advertising and took a CV and another guy ran back from his train and said he’d walked past but had started thinking and might have something for me… The support was great, one man even bought me a cup of tea and told me ‘good luck.’ And if the thousands of commuters passing by wasn’t enough attention, a photo of a prospective employer taking down Ajani’s phone number found its way to Twitter this morning. It has since been retweeted by Olympic sprinter Kelly Sotherton and motivational speaker Gavin Ingham. The sales expert wrote: He will no doubt get interviews and offers whilst others sit at home moaning. Good on him. Potentially sealing the deal will be Ajani’s work experience: He somehow managed to work as a waiter while earning a degree with nearly the maximum amount of honors.
