#NM-injured dog found at Valencia County dump after dead dogs found from #dogfighting-needs aid/justice! Via>Volunteers of the Valencia County Animal Shelter Facebook page Sadly another case of neglect and abuse. The following message came from our Shelter Supervisor, we formally named her Gabriella or Ella for short. Good Evening: I was sure hoping it would be a while before having to ask for everyones help again. This sweet Pitbull girl was brought into the Valencia County Animal Shelter this afternoon 1/22/15 about 3:30pm after someone found her at the Conejo transfer station. As many of you know after seeing the news story last night,we took in 4 dead dogs in 3 days from this same place last week that were used as bait dogs for fighting. This girl is very lucky to still be alive. Shes in bad condition and is spending the night at Los Lunas Animal Hospital on fluids, tomorrow morning she will have X-rays done and a full exam to figure out exactly what is wrong with her and how all of this could have happened. She is so skinny and at the moment can not walk (possibly because she is so weak), her right eye is severely injured and has several scars on her body. She appears to have injuries that would be consistent with being thrown from a vehicle but also has old injuries that may be from being used as a bait dog. Once we have the full report and treatment plan from the vet I will update everyone on this email and we will possibly need donations again to treat her. The clinic has about $200 still that was left from everyone donating to Misty the little Chihuahua with the broken leg. That $200 will cover her spending the night there on fluids and her X-rays but after that it will be used up. Donations made for this girl need to be made to the clinic on their PayPal account or checks can be mailed to them as well. NOTE: Any donations leftover after the full cost is covered for this dog will be kept track of separately by the clinic for the next one we get needing urgent care such as this one. Thank you!
