NO LIGHT, NO WATER BUT THEY ARE STILL CHANTING “E GO - TopicsExpress

NO LIGHT, NO WATER BUT THEY ARE STILL CHANTING “E GO BETA” Millions of Nigerians will go to bed today with an empty stomach not because they are lazy, they’ve strived all their lives from nursery school through university some even up to second degree to one day be able to earn a living but the Government of today have made that unattainable. The so-called Government of today is a cliché of ROGUES out to enrich themselves and their cronies, every four years a particular cliché (PDP) since 1999 have been feeding us with glib/promises. My question is “what have we the Nigerian masses done to these “rogues” to earn this degree of suffering from them?? Few weeks ago I wanted to have a long discussion with my brother and so decided to do so via Facebook we had a rendezvous, the time came I logged in only to find him offline, tried his line several times to no avail, my mum’s too same story, I was confused, all sorts of things ran through my mind, in short I was wrapped in thoughts. Early the next morning he called me only to hear ”sorry I couldn’t make it yesterday due to power outage my battery was flat, I managed to charge my phone at a friend’s place who has a Gen. set this morning and the line went off. Living in darkness in this 21st century, yet the Aso rock occupant will say “E go beta” Way back in 2004 while i was in a village in Edo state, the water I was given to drink was so dirty that if given to bathe with I wouldn’t. Their children don’t attend good schools, they don’t drink good portable water, health care zero; don’t even mention power because that’s a mirage in their eyes. Even in my hometown in Kogi state portable drinking water is luxury. Yet the common thieves in the state capital (Benin, Lokoja) will say “E go beta” Maina, the erstwhile chairman of the Pension taskforce a grade level 15 civil servant who had a motorcade of 3 SUVs and a security detail of at least ten mobile police officers was indicted by the senate, yet the president was dinning and winning with him, the next day the president will come out and say “this administration is committed to the fight against corruption” who are they deceiving. Maina left the country for Singapore while many pensioners die fighting to get their benefits. Even if the president is fighting corruption it’s for sure “hogwash”. With the high level of impunity in Nigeria today I see it slipping into a banana republic, I fear anarchy if care is not taken but the God that have sustained us up till today will surely do till 2015 and beyond. Fellow compatriots come 2015 please don’t vote across tribal/religious affiliations because if you have been doing so you should now know it doesn’t pay to be a sentimentalist. Come 2015 shine your eyes don’t let 500, 1000 naira, indomie, recharge card change your mind, and if it does do you are DOOMED for the next 4 years again. Fellow compatriots it’s high time we stop hoping it’s time to ACT. God bless Nigeria. Araga Muhammad Dahiru. @Shemkaf Blida, Algeria.
